Sentinel-5P Atmospheric Viewer

Sentinel-5P is one of the latest satellites which joined the Copernicus program in October 2017, carrying the TROPOMI spectrometer. Its main mission is to monitor atmospheric trace gases, aerosols and cloud distribution. Some of its special characteristics are its 2600km swath its daily coverage and 7km x 3.5km spatial resolution. Each Sentinel 5p product represents the concentration of a given gas, which is measured by TROPOMI. The algorithms are taking into account the cloud coverage, the position of the Sun etc. for each different measurement. Through this web-application, you can monitor the air quality of a region of Crete. Specifically, you can view and download daily or multiple day mean images, inspect the yearly timeseries of each product and for user selected pixel points. The products include the vertical column density at ground level of Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), Methane (CH4), Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Tropospheric column density of Formaldehyde (HCHO). The vertical column density refers to the total concentration of a gas along a vertical column in g/m^2. CH4 product is land only and there are sparse data for the region of Crete.
