Very High Spatial Resolution Satellite Imagery

Series of Very High Spatial Resolution Satellite Imagery are acquired from commercial satellite platforms. Most of them cover urban areas (e.g. Heraklion, Athens, London, Berlin, Nairobi, Munich, Sofia, San Sebastian, Bristol, Basel, Sao Paolo, Medellín) providing the spatiotemporal evolution of the respective cities. Multispectral data from the following platforms are available:

  • IKONOS, at 1 m x 1 m spatial resolution
  • QuickBird-2, at 0.7 m x 0.7 m spatial resolution
  • WorldView II/III in single and stereo views, at 0.5 m x 0.5 m spatial resolution
  • Pleiades in several acquisition modes (single, stereo, tristereo), at 0.5 m x 0.5 m spatial resolution
  • Planet Cubesats, at 3 m x 3 m spatial resolution and daily revisit
