The Remote Sensing Lab posseses a number of iButton Thermochron devices. They are small size thermal sensors, enclosed in a durable stainless steel housing, at the size of a button. A low cost device for the monitoring of surface temperature manufactured by iButtonLink Technology - USA.

Rotronic HygroPalm HP32 with HC2A Probe

The Lab is in possession of two high accuracy Rotronic HygroPalm HP32 sensors. Paired with the HC2A probes they are ideal handheld instruments for monitoring temperature measurements in demanding applications where high accuracy is needed. In combination with the thermal sensor PT100, they are a powerful ally in the monitoring of surface temperatures, the use of it during thermal satellite overpasses and the calibration of other thermal observations coming from the iButtons or the Optris 640Pi thermal camera.
